Parents take to streets in protest

Parents of Labudoowa Siridhamma National school has held a protest demonstration today (17) over the government's decision to suspend the school's principal.

The suspension was notified to him in writing.

The Education Ministry took measures to suspend the school's Principal - Premasiri Epa after the school staged a drama insulting President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
CDs containing the drama have been sent to the President and the Education Ministry.

Reports say that the principal had stopped the offensive drama immediately and filed a complaint with the police.

He had later claimed that such a scene did not exist during rehearsals.
